Before I start Day 2 Hon I miss you and little Annie. How are you two doing? I still can`t get a signal. The last three restaurants I`ve have been using free wifi and I must say I am getting pretty good at getting the internet when they give me the password. Also I want to thank Lorrie for the heat pads. I used it on the flight and I was like Peter pan, well almost. Update on the elbow is getting better, hardly any pain when riding.
Okay here we go. I had a good sleep and I can see the mosquitoes waiting for me to vacate the tent. I had the sheet hanging down from my head to try keeping the mosquitoes off me. I left at 6:40am and it was overcast and cool temp. perfect conditions for riding. I was taking a picture of a hill I just climbed and a car came up and asked if everything is okay. She works in Sherbrooke at the Café and I told her I will be having breakfast in Sherbrooke and I might see you and I did. I did the Day 1 blog at the café. I also bought sunglasses. Life is good. I took a different route from the 09 trip and that was ridicules. Construction with gravel from side to side every 100 yds. I don`t like gravel, right Gary. I had lunch in Guyborough and I took a picture of the RBC bank for Samantha and Helen. I must say the road got better and the scenery was great especially riding towards Mulgrave. It looked it could have should have rained and it has held off so far.
I am having dinner in Port Hastings, Cape Breton Isl. It is so nice to have a good dinner after a good ride. Whatever happens on the ride on that day is all forgotten when I can have two beers and finish with pie and tea. Life is good. I have picked out a campsite on the way to the restaurant which means a second day without showering. aah.
Today`s ride- 167 kms.
total- 331 kms.
Hi Hon - miss you too! Had Maggie and George overnight and they kept asking when is Papa coming home! I said to Annie - where's Daddy and she ran to the gate all excited. Hope you're feeling better - you were probably nauseaus from the antibiotics. Looks so beautiful there. Pool pump has shut down - left a message for Ken to come and look at it - think it's the same problem as we had before - the breaker or something. If I don't see him by tomorrow I'll have to call an electrian. Aauuugghhh! Wonder why you can't get reception out there but you could in the Rocky Mountains - LOL. Safe riding - love you. Hon xoxo
